We are a coalition of individuals who are resident in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and other individuals who have an interest in the matters that occur in the Borough. We came together in a common cause in our disgust with the misconduct and depraved emails sexualising young boys by Barry Phelps. Our main aim on this blog was to expose the depraved emails sent by the then Councillor Barry Phelps, and to campaign for his resignation. With the resignation of Barry Phelps, the aim has been to inform readers of the full story and facts concerning the issues that led to the resignation of Phelps. This was especially important as the national and local press, with the exceptions of the Kensington and Chelsea Chronicle and the Independent on Sunday, failed to report the story at all. We were concerned that many people who lived and worked in Kensington and Chelsea, as well as many Londoners, would be completely unaware that two Councillors in the Borough had resigned over the email scandal.
All the individuals involved on this blog care deeply about open and transparent government in this Borough, and wish to expose and attack any corruption in the Town Hall, and to raise the standards of those elected to represent us where they are failing. This blog, whilst it started out in campaigning against Barry Phelps, one of the most hideous individuals to enter public life, will evolve into a broader campaign against Town Hall corruption and increased accountability to residents in the Borough.
